Inside this facility lies the prototype production of the German TransRapid railroad system. Held aloft by magnetic energy rather than wheels, the train is exceedingly quiet yet capable of reaching speeds of 500 kph (310 mph).

Walking into the facility one can immediately see the prototype TR08 being built. This new train is expected to begin demonstration runs in January 2000, and features NO CABS! The high speed of this system requires centralized control and computer coordination to ensure safety. However, an engineer will be present on-board to provide peace-of-mind.

The "track" crosses the employee parking lot, heading behind the assembly building.
